The problem with 'sensible default', is that different systems handle different amount of load differently. Ubuntu runs on systems from ~800mhz PC to 8 cored x32 threads (?) T2 Sparcs.
the limit that saves my (example) 800mhz pc will mean that the T2 is almost idle. ps. I think the bug would have been better titled 'set maximum number of processes'. or similar. -- ubuntu freezes completely (all graphics and mouse) when executing shell ascii forkbomb https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/163185 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
