Better templates (as well as other features in these extensions) are
definitely needed in OpenOffice.

I have been curious regarding the licensing, etc. -- what's keeping them
out of the standard release? The extensions are also listed on the
OpenOffice pages at SUN:
http://extensions.services.openoffice.org/search/node/oxygenoffice
...but when I just downloaded the English Template pack, it redirected
me to the download via the sourceforge page.

Here's a short review of the extensions:
"Must-have OpenOffice.org extensions"
http://www.linux.com/articles/61715?tid=13

It specifically describes the Annotation Tool, the SVG Import Filter,
the Tabbed Windows extension, and the OOo.hg map collection.
