I have noted the same symptoms for months; i.e. 100% usage of one cpu core with any document opened in LibreOffice for an extended period. Simple 10kB text file in Writer or large spreadsheet in Calc. Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS, LibreOffice 6.0.7.3 00m0(Build:3). This behavour has not improved with any main line updates from Ubuntu.
