au.archive.ubuntu.com is useless.
This is the default mirror provided in sources.list for australian users.
I just tried an install and the "scanning mirrors" took many, many minutes, due
to failing to connect to this mirror [I have a fast cable connection to the
net].
This mirror has to be either fixed, or pointed to a much better mirror.
