pretty sure it was USER error - sorry, my mistake

  this issue was discovered on sony vaio which doesn't have ethernet for
  ubuntu-bug, so switched to thinkpad x201 - same issue here, but x201 has
  ethernet for bug submission..

+ from terminal I grab the wireless device name (wlp2s0 for thinkpad
+ x201), then using `nm-tray` icon on main panel right click & select edit
+ connections.  I expect to see
