Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-volume-manager

There is static noise when the mic is on. Very low level, but enough
that it needs to be muted when listening with headphones. After muting
the microphone, it will unmute itself after several minutes. I cann't
get it to stay muted. Last time I reduced the volume of the mic input to
nothing and when the mic noise came back the volume slider was also
returned to max levels.
