hmm, you should at least see the username in auth.log with either successfull or failed login, the daemon.log entries are totally fine but dont refer to the login process at all. what happens if you enable LDM_USERNAME and LDM_PASSWORD and if you set LDM_SERVER=192.168.0.254 ?
