I can build the mainline 4.20.3 kernel locally if I set "do_dkms_nvidia = false" in its 0001-base-packaging.patch.
Why would we even want to build the nvidia driver for recent kernels? Even the most up-to-date nvidia drivers rarely compile for -rc kernels, and ubuntu typically has an older version of the nvidia driver anyway (currently nvidia-390 from last August), so kernel build failure seems highly likely to occur if it relies on the nvidia driver building successfully. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1811721 Title: Mainline Kernel Builds Failing for > v4.20 for amd64 on kernel.ubuntu.com To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1811721/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
