I also suspect that something else, that I have installed, makes the stuff working, maybe the package dcoprss. dcoprss description: RSS utilities for KDE kdenetwork-dcoprss is a RSS to DCOP bridge, allowing all DCOP aware applications to access RSS news feeds. There is also a few sample utilities provided.
