I confirm that I accidently used a hdmi 1.3 cable and replace it now with a high speed hdmi cable and that solved the issue.
The only weird thing is that 60hz only appeared in xunbuntu after I turned the monitor HDMIULTRA HD Deep color mode on. Probably a product feature of the monitor or do you think this is an xubuntu feature? The quality of the video improved great with 60hz. HDMI 2.0a supports 4k 60hz with Ultra deep color. HDMI 2.1 is for 4k 120hz or 8k or 10k. My conclusion is that it successful operates at 4k 60hz in Ultra HD Deep color mode.
