Binary package hint: lirc
I have worked my serial port remote control in Ubuntu 6.10, but in 7.10 I get
it broken with same configuration files,
Then I copied /usr/sbin/lircd from 6.10 is start working well.
/etc/lirc/hardware.conf:

LOAD_MODULES=false
DRIVER="pinsys"
DEVICE="/dev/ttyS0"
MODULES=""
LIRCD_CONF="pinnacle_systems/lircd.conf.pctv"

lircd in 6.10 is working with serial rc but doesn't work anymore in 7.10
