this bug is fixed with https://github.com/thjaeger/easystroke/commit/7bda4bd9c705413598ee9b534884bc7f23704932 which is in git master, possible other patches mentioned below also could help:
It seems like easystroke on ubuntu is still built from 0.6.0 release and not from master.
