Confirmed on kubuntu 7.04 with latest updates as of Nov 8 2007. If Country or Region is set to "C - Default", and language is "US English", when I delete an item from my desktop I see a button that says "_:Verb Trash".
Changing the Country or Region setting to Canada with US English fixes this problem.
