Hi Danish, According to the logs, you have previously installed the community edition of mysql and haven't fully removed it yet. As the community edition package isn't maintained by Ubuntu, there's no automatic process for upgrading to an Ubuntu-maintained package.
To get around this, you'll need to fully uninstall the previous mysql components (you can recognize them because their version numbers all end in "ubuntu14.04"). A quick way to get the list: apt search mysql |grep "ubuntu14\.04" ** Changed in: mysql-5.7 (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1803489 Title: package mysql-server-core-5.7 (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: trying to overwrite '/usr/share/mysql/bulgarian/errmsg.sys', which is also in package mysql-common 5.6.20-1ubuntu14.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mysql-5.7/+bug/1803489/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
