This is indeed a very serious issue and definitely should not be a 'wishlist'.
I'm not aware of any other application that respects user so little that it forces you having folder with hard coded name in your home from the moment installation and forever. It pollutes everything: file manager, command line, search etc. If you using GUI file manager it is also extremely easy to remove or move this folder with accidental mouse drag and only notice it when half of your apps stop working correctly. In fact, when I first noticed snap folder I just removed it as I though it was some cache that wasn't cleared by the snappy... I understand that it may be quite difficult to fix, but I think this issue deserves more attention. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1575053 Title: Please move the "$HOME/snap" directory to a less obtrusive location To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/snapd/+bug/1575053/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
