My Dell Latitude e7440 (core i7 4600U, intel graphics) shows a similar
behaviour after updating to 18.04:

Wake-up after suspend often fails with power LED on. Hard shut down
seems to be the only way to recover. Sometimes, additionally to this,
suspend seems to incomplete in the sense that the laptop gets hot and
the fan is running. The last entry in kern.log during the failing
suspend is:

  PM: suspend entry (deep)

While the issue shows up often, I did not figure out how to
deterministically triggers it.

I'm using the current kernel 4.15.0-38. Should this one contain the
above discussed fix?
