Is there a reason to delete the uploader?
I'm surprised that debian is happy to keep the ubuntu changelogs, but, well,
its their choice.
Did you ask Michael if we still have to carry the ubuntu changes:
call dh_installinit with -u multiuser (Teardown spec)
debian/patches: Add sample_ubuntu.diff
Since you are also involved in debian, any reason from you not to
include them in debian?
