Hi Mike, I found that PcManFM has a new version 1.3.0 for Cosmic, and it has as a necessary part LibFM 1.3.2. Since I found installable .deb file of PcManFM itself in the Launcpad, and I found LibFM for it nowhere as an installable .deb file, first I tried only the PcManFM deb file to install to see what will happen... After installation PcManFM runs like a charm with old LibFM (1.2.5) and no more freezing. Virtually it solved my (and maybe others) main problem - without knowing its background.
And on the other hand I was not brave enough to make experiments with LibFM. I don't know if it works with Bionic or not, since it is quite clear by Lauchpad that it has been made for Cosmic. I know this is quite a "not standard" solution, I was surprised (in a good meaning) that PcManFM 1.3.0 works with LibFM 1.2.5 I send you a picture of the "About" section of my "Now working" software. On Wednesday at my work my first to do will be trying Thunar Cosmic on Lubuntu Bionic where my test installation is. The other thing I want to try is PcManFm 1.2.5 on Xubuntu Bionic to see what will happen, since Thunar for Bionic works well on it.
