Hello,

For what it is worth. I am affected by the same bug. It is frustrating.
I agree with all of the information presented above regarding the bug
and I have SOMETHING NEW TO ADD.

NEW: Not seen referenced anywhere is that a similar feature in
"Workspaces to Dock" add on works exactly as expected when you enable
the "favorites" feature. Touching (finger) ONCE on show installed
applications reveals the installed applications. This information may
be useful for those that are trouble shooting.

Confirmed The Following on my HP Spectre x360 Convertible 15-bl1XX.
>> Gnome Dash acts as expected without Dash to Dock, Dash to Bar, or Ubuntu
>> Dock installed / active. (Clicking on show apps shows app with one click).
>> I suspect that all share similar code to initiate show apps.
>> Initiating with long press then sliding finger off of show applications
>> after expanded will leave drawer open.
>> Looks like sliding finger in from side of screen will show applications
>> (default Gnome actions)... BUT it would be nice if swiping in again from
>> side will return to pre-swipe conditions. As it stands now, you must press
>> Escape Key, clicking show applications icon again and subsequently an open
>> application, or clicking "Activities" in top left.
>> staring an application that permits multiple instances (ie terminal / files)
>> will start two instances if started from click.

Presently, I am going to switch back to default gnome dash because of
the touch issues... and use "pinch" to show open windows and swipe in to
show applications. Hope they fix this sooner than later as I do like
the "Dash to Dock/Bar" extensions.
