I've asked our OEM team to look for the hardware to test this on, but they haven't got any. We're in the position that as far as we can tell nothing is made *worse* by this change, but we can't be sure if it actually fixes the problem or not. I think this is safe to land now, but if anyone has hardware to test this on, please help.
