I was trying to make the bug better reproducable. I now think it's a bug in ibus-anthy. Firefox will btw. have the same behavior.
Here are the steps: - install ibus and ibus anthy - start ibus ( startmenu -> ibus ) - startmenu -> language support -> "keyboard input method system" -> set it to "ibus" - reboot / logout, login (to make the setting apply) - open mousepad - write in English (letters), try to save, cancel: no problem - randomly hit some keys on the keyboard to make some JP characters appear. - Hit Enter to accept Japanese input (usual behavior for JP input so far) - After Enter the dotted line under the input should be gone - Press Ctrl+S for saving - Cancel saving with Esc - Input is not possible anymore. You need to restart Anthy (in the traybar) to be able to do further input.
