Public bug reported: Rhythmbox on Ubuntu goes with "Alternative Toolbar" enabled by default.
This alternative toolbar is missing volume control! I disabled this plugin and now after I restarted Rhythmbox, I see no menu (and so no "Plugins" menu item to change it further). Sorry that I reported two bugs in one, but they need to be fixed together.
