Please, add the following patch: http://patchwork.ozlabs.org/patch/968786/ which adds a mode where all vCPUs on a core must be the same VM on POWER8 and POWER9. This is intended for use in security-conscious settings where users are concerned about possible side-channel attacks between threads which could perhaps enable one VM to attack another VM on the same core, or the host. ** Affects: kernel-package (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Assignee: Ubuntu on IBM Power Systems Bug Triage (ubuntu-power-triage) Status: New ** Tags: architecture-ppc64le bugnameltc-171447 severity-medium targetmilestone-inin1810 ** Tags added: architecture-ppc64le bugnameltc-171447 severity-medium targetmilestone-inin1810 ** Changed in: ubuntu Assignee: (unassigned) => Ubuntu on IBM Power Systems Bug Triage (ubuntu-power-triage) ** Package changed: ubuntu => kernel-package (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1792956 Title: Provide mode where all vCPUs on a core must be the same VM To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kernel-package/+bug/1792956/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
