Public bug reported: When testing out a new OS, I chose the option to install Ubuntu and enable LUKS encryption + LVM.
I was waiting for the confirmation page to ensure that the installer was installing to the correct disk. It turns out I'd chosen the wrong disk (my main disk) and I figured that I'd simply be able to rollback the installer at the confirmation screen. The horrific violation of my expectations was that the installer _encrypted my main disk and setup LVM_ BEFORE i confirmed the installation. Now I'm stuck with my main disk being encrypted and unmountable. I'm trying desperately to recover my main disk which I cannot boot from, can decrypt but cannot mount. Please assist! ** Affects: ubiquity (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: luks lvm -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1790531 Title: Choosing encryption in installer encrypts disk before confirmation of installation To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/1790531/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
