The original bug report was intended to refer to Ubuntu (Gnome), not
Kubuntu (KDE). I apologise if the original description was not clear
enough. KMediaFactory should add itself to the Gnome "Applications" menu
("Sound & Video" would be the most logical place).

I have added some screen shots showing what happens (or rather what
doesn't happen) during installation. The file names should be self
explanatory. Briefly however, I started with a clean install of
"ubuntu-7.10-desktop-i386.iso". I then applied all updates. I then
installed KMediaFactory using Synaptic. The KMediaFactory package
installed, but didn't show up in any of the menus (the system was first
rebooted just to prove that this doesn't help anything). If
KMediaFactory is added to the menu manually, then the package will
launch from the menu and work correctly.

This problem was present in the previous version of Ubuntu (Gnome) also.
This problem also affects some other KDE apps when used from Gnome. I
don't have a list of those, so they aren't included in this bug report.
I can run tests and file separate bug reports on those later.
