Public bug reported: Sony Vaio VGN-N395E Laptop runs at about 60C when it's idle. Fan does not kick in until the temperature rises to above 75C, then it kicks in and temperature stabilizes at 78-79C when using %100 cpu. Normal idle temperature for this laptop is about 35-40C on windows vista. Also on windows vista cpu fan kicks in about every 5 minutes even when idle.
I suspect this laptop has a different control chip for fan speed because sony standard tool spicctrl does not control the fan speed. Also lm- sensors package just detects one sensor. I'll try to keep a close eye on this bug if anyone has any questions. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Sony Vaio VGN-N395E runs very hot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/160112 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
