Ok, this works for you BUT you need a custom dsdt. The 2.6.22-9-mandriva kernel works with sound WITHOUT custom dsdt. And with the mandriva kernel I can use kpowersave's autodim which didn't work with an ubuntu kernel and a custom dsdt.
