Maybe the problem is related to nForce chip set? I can confirm jjabba's fault-table with abit nf8 mobo, Iogear GCS632U KVM and Ubuntu 7.10. The same KVM and Ubuntu version works perfectly with GA-7VAXP mobo, which uses VIA chip set.
