This bug has something to do with Spam Assassin. But simply deactivating SpamAssassin had no effect.
However, when I uninstalled the spam assassin packages and the Razor Package, the problem stopped happening. I only figured this out through a bunch of trail and error. I think if you uninstall these packages using synaptic, you won't have the problem any more. The only problem is that then you won't have any spam filtering.
