In final version of Kubuntu 7.10 I still can't find any floppy disk icon in any place !
I can mount the floppy disk ONLY in a terminal. After mounting with sudo mount /dev/fd0 /mnt/ the only way to write to the floppy is: sudo konqueror (working with a files with the root privileges is dangerous) Is Kubuntu a user friendly distro? Only advanced user can use the floppy disk ! Windows 95 in 1995 used floppy disk but Linux Kubuntu in 2007 still can't do it? For my grandmother I probable install (in KDE) Nautilus from Gnome. It have the floppy disk icon to mount/umount this device. But KDE+Nautilus is not a Kubuntu CD. Kubuntu CD is useless for beginers! -- Floppy disk is missing in Kubuntu 7.10 beta https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/151282 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
