Great. Thanks for figuring that out. Was there any sign of corruption? Were you able to upgrade gdm3 to the latest version again?
I wonder - if it happens again then please check: 1. if your disk/partition is full (run: df -h); or 2. if the disk has experienced any hardware errors (run the Disks app > burger menu > SMART Data & Self-Tests...). If most other people here are experiencing bug 1779827 instead of this then it is possible this bug was entirely unique to your machine. ** No longer affects: linux (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1779476 Title: Ubuntu 18.04: gdm3 does not switch to graphics after update To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gdm3/+bug/1779476/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
