I have an x800xl with dualhead and Gutsy's free radeon driver.

I find Xv to work (only on one screen at a time, but whatever) for some
random amount of attempts during a session. After that, apparently the
Xv port fails to be released for use by new clients, even after making
sure the old player instances are dead.

The problem persists independent of video player; mplayer in particular gives
this complaint:
Xv: could not grab port 65
Could not find free Xvideo port - maybe another process is already using it.
Close all video applications, and try again. If that does not help,
see 'mplayer -vo help' for other (non-xv) video out drivers.
Error opening/initializing the selected video_out (-vo) device.

This is highly detrimental to proper video playback, and was a problem
in Feisty too (I recall reporting it, but apparently not, or maybe
somewhere else then). Before Feisty, same computer, same card, no
problem, so it's a regression even. If you'd ask me, I'd bump it up a
bit from "low"...
