I can answer this one...
I did that as my first option (google a little in ubuntu forums for "The
Master Kernel Thread"). With a script there it's very easy to do it. You
take around 2 to 3 hours. I had problemas with my first reboot and
could'nt do anything.
I tried the patched version and the"normal" one, either one of them did
not boot. But maybe you have better luck than I did. If so... post your
results and comments.
