I have the same situation like 'stonewall_boris', with the exactly same device. I've noticed that scanning the wireless lan with a "#iwlist wlan0 scan" is too much unstable. Only really very rare times it detected the AP. I tried to configure the wireless with and without cryptography (WEP) and with hex key of 64 and 128 bits, without success. I tried to configure the device with ndiswrapper (like it works fine on Feisty) and with the module rt2570 also without success.
