Would it explain why it got the "kernel" entries and lines and not the "initrd" ?
The 2nd machine was a clean first-install of a Kubuntu Feisty then network-upgraded to Gutsy with some trouble (every Kubuntu upgrade I made caused trouble with adept_manager bailing out on error and forcing me to finish manually with command-line aptitude). I attach the /var/log/apt/term.log for the 2nd machine, but I now realize that I'm not a hundred percent sure that this is the correct machine. I'm 100% sure that on 2 machines I upgraded (among several) I noticed the grub menu.lst kernel entry had been added but not the initrd entry, but I'm only 80% sure it was _this_ machine... As previously said, I had different kind of trouble with every machine I upgraded and solved the problems as they came. I cannot guarantee that I make no mistake that *this* machine was one of the 2 with this specific problem. I think it is, but wouldn't bet my life on it ;-) ** Attachment added: "term.log file as requested" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/10226709/cr.term.log -- Upgrade from Feisty to Gutsy doesn't put initrd line in Grub. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/156058 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
