There is no ends of errors in your term.log, it starts with volumeid failing to install properly:
Setting up volumeid (113-0ubuntu13) ... /var/lib/dpkg/info/volumeid.postinst: 56: Syntax error: ")" unexpected (expecting ";;") dpkg: error processing volumeid (--configure): subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 2 This probably created an avalanche of dependency problems. The volumeid issue was fixed before the 7.10 release: udev (113-0ubuntu14) gutsy; urgency=low * Fix volumeid.postinst. Missing ;; in a couple of places. -- Fabio M. You should try to upgrade again, if you haven't yet. ** Changed in: grub (Ubuntu) Assignee: Tormod Volden (tormodvolden) => (unassigned) Status: Incomplete => Fix Released -- package grub 0.97-29ubuntu4 failed to install/upgrade: https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/146763 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
