I will attach two screengrab'd files that show Nemo's and PCManFM's
Properties->Permissions for my /data/scott/Desktop directory.
See if you see any issue...
To my inexperienced eye, nothing seems wrong - the owner IS scott, and the
owner has read/write/execute permissions for the directory ("view and modify
folder content")
The only difference that I can see between the permissions for
/data/scott/Desktop and /home/scott/Desktop is that for
/home/scott/Desktop, "Group" has write permission, and it does not for
/data/scott/Desktop.
I'm not sure how relevant "Group" is here, as there is only me...
