I have similar problem: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-panel/+bug/158388 Applets moves for example every time I run mplayer in fullscreen mode. I found that it is caused by the fact some applets automatically changes "panel_right_stick" attribute in gconf, although I do not know why. Hope it helps to solving this problem. Btw. Is anybody working on this?
