I find my way here after losing xchat-gnome on the bionic upgrade: Ok - so I just tried out hexchat - and that seems to be pretty good alternative / update.
Is there a way to get apt to suggest / recommend hexchat instead of failing to install xchat-gnome? """ # sudo apt-get install xchat-gnome Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done Package xchat-gnome is not available, but is referred to by another package. This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or is only available from another source E: Package 'xchat-gnome' has no installation candidate """ It would be useful for that to print the alternatives - or just install hexchat as a replacement :D -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1758163 Title: Please remove xchat-gnome from Ubuntu (again) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xchat-gnome/+bug/1758163/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
