the reason why i asked is that i installed the driver using the new restricted driver manager, and i do not want to start messing with the insides of this installation because its just not worth the time. i will however use compiz if there is no set up time from scratch and if i can help to make that for everyone else then i would be willing to make the effort then. but as of now the latest driver was not installed and i can't help anyone unless the driver is updated in the repos. in my opinion this bug is a write off for nvidia cards until that time because yes it does fix the symptoms but not the problem.
