Same here with a 18.04 upgraded from 17.10 Workaround : * Hitting Alt+F1 return to GDM who complain about a “login fail” and ask another time my password. * Another successful password attempt finally launch Gnome correctly.
Side effect : * Hitting Alt+F3,4,5,... give me ugly graphic mashup.
