Public bug reported: I don't think it is really a bug, since a i386 Ubuntu is maybe not supposed to boot on a AMD64...
I tried to install Ubuntu Gutsy on a 64bits PC. I put the desktop CD in the PC, the start menu appears, I choosed the language and the keyboard layout and started with the first option. Ubuntu started to boot but stopped and displays BusyBox without an error message. It took me some time to remember that this PC has a 64bits processor, maybe an explicit error message would be welcome. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- The i386 live-cd doesn't boot on 64 bits https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/158273 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
