Thanks for the bug report. Its probably not related to the bug you
linked (although exhibits a similar symptom). I add this comment to
ensure no one marks this as a duplicate un-necessarily.

The problem here is  GPU lockup. I'm wondering if there is anything else
we can narrow down with this bug...

Can it ever be triggered by pressing the "video" button on the laptop?

Does it only manifest with dual-screens? Does playing the video full
screen leave video on one screen, but blue on the other? (I'm trying to
figure out if the video overlay hardware is being used).

Thinking out loud, I'm condidering the possibility of a crash when the
XV overlay jumps from the laptop monitor to the external screen (which
it does on my system when making video playback fullscreen).
