Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: usplash

The screen resolution is hardcoded in /etc/usplash.conf.

This should really be detected at boot time, instead, so that hot
plugging monitors will not give out-of-sync situations, or cause
unsightly resampling to happen on the monitor.
