Public bug reported:

$ snap version
snap    2.32+18.04~pre5
snapd   2.32+18.04~pre5
series  16
ubuntu  18.04
kernel  4.15.0-12-generic

Trying to run apps installed as snaps, I hit /usr/bin/snap failing to
find the snap in question

e.g.
$ emoj
internal error, please report: running "emoj" failed: cannot find installed
snap "emoj" at revision 1

This is not particular to the emoj snap, and seems to be reproducible on
many snaps, which are showing as broken.

$ snap list | wc -l
25
$ snap list | grep broken | wc -l
17

By removing a broken snap, and re-installing it from the store, the bug
is no longer present.

Additional debugging shows that many of my snaps have disappeared from
the filesystem.

Snippet from $(strace emoj) at https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/sGsfMBZzD9/
shows that the meta.yaml is missing. Indeed the entire /snap/emoj/1/
directory is empty - there is no mount active for that snap

The status of the mount unit is inactive(dead)
