Public bug reported: gnome shell is consuming most of my laptop's memory, i.e. ~700 MB / 3.8 GB. Currently using Ubuntu 17.10 >> Artful Aardvark. RAM consumption is pretty high even if you compare it to Chrome, having 5 tabs open and running simultaneously.
