This may take a while. I'll need to find half a day to fiddle with this. However, here's an interesting note. When booting with the 3.13.0-143 kernel, the NVIDIA X Server Settings applet didn't display any of the X server info. Uninstalling the NVIDIA driver didn't fix things; the second screen still wasn't detected.
