Public bug reported: I upgraded my laptop to bionic last week. It is a Dell Inspiron 5000 series skylake laptop with Synaptics clickpad.
It has 2 emulated buttons at the bottom, however since upgrading the right click button (area) is now emitting a left click instead of right click. 2 finger right click continues to work as expected. xev output (first event is left click area, second right click) ButtonPress event, serial 37, synthetic NO, window 0x3400001, root 0x137, subw 0x0, time 5203741, (67,75), root:(117,189), state 0x10, button 1, same_screen YES ButtonRelease event, serial 37, synthetic NO, window 0x3400001, root 0x137, subw 0x0, time 5203964, (67,75), root:(117,189), state 0x110, button 1, same_screen YES ButtonPress event, serial 37, synthetic NO, window 0x3400001, root 0x137, subw 0x0, time 5207317, (67,75), root:(117,189), state 0x10, button 1, same_screen YES ButtonRelease event, serial 37, synthetic NO, window 0x3400001, root 0x137, subw 0x0, time 5207493, (67,75), root:(117,189), state 0x110, button 1, same_screen YES ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 18.04 Package: libinput10 1.9.4-2ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.13.0-32.35-generic 4.13.13 Uname: Linux 4.13.0-32-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.8-0ubuntu10 Architecture: amd64 CompizPlugins: [core, bailer, detection, composite, opengl, decor, compiztoolbox, imgpng, snap, regex, gnomecompat, mousepoll, wall, move, grid, vpswitch, unitymtgrabhandles, place, resize, animation, expo, workarounds, session, fade, ezoom, scale, unityshell, dbus] CompositorRunning: None CurrentDesktop: GNOME Date: Thu Feb 15 20:31:56 2018 DistUpgraded: 2018-02-11 12:12:03,492 DEBUG Running PostInstallScript: './xorg_fix_proprietary.py' DistroCodename: bionic DistroVariant: ubuntu DkmsStatus: virtualbox, 5.2.6, 4.12.0-13-generic, x86_64: installed virtualbox, 5.2.6, 4.13.0-32-generic, x86_64: installed GraphicsCard: Intel Corporation HD Graphics 520 [8086:1916] (rev 07) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) Subsystem: Dell HD Graphics 520 [1028:06b2] Subsystem: Dell Sun XT [Radeon HD 8670A/8670M/8690M / R5 M330 / M430 / R7 M520] [1028:06b2] InstallationDate: Installed on 2016-05-27 (628 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu-GNOME 16.04 LTS "Xenial Xerus" - Release amd64 (20160509) MachineType: Dell Inc.
