Hi Julian, thank you for taking time to report this (and for the screenshot!).
It seems that the upgrade process is not able to shutdown correctly the mysql database. Could you explain us the steps that led to this. From your screenshot, we can see that you where trying to install also php7 and that you where using the (-f) of apt-get option. May I suggest to check if mysql is running: $ ps fax | grep mysql Can you also give us the result of the following commands: $ systemctl status mysql $ journalctl -xe Logs of the mysql DB would also be a good help: $ cat /var/log/mysql/* -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1679762 Title: package mariadb-server-10.0 10.0.25-0ubuntu0.16.04.1 failed to install/upgrade: el subproceso script pre-removal nuevo devolvió el código de salida de error 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mariadb-10.0/+bug/1679762/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
