Hi I was trying to say that you could try to reproduce this problem using a live cd, instead of booting from your hard disk, so that way we can discard or not that particular piece of hardware as the root of the problem. but as you point in your last comment, i'm afraid to say that you have faulty Memory (ram), you should try to replace the problematic hardware and try again, in this case you should change your computer's ram. or if you have more than one module of ram, run memtest on each of them separately, this means just one connected to the computer at the time, and try to reproduce the problem with just the memory which doesn't give you any error.
I'll wait until you can check with non defective hardware, so we can properly establish that this isn't an Ubuntu related bug, but a hardware issue instead. By the way, if you don't have access to non-defective hardware, please tell me so, and i'll close this bug until you can properly check. Hope this help to clarify, and good luck with your testing. -- [gutsy]Firefox doesn't start https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/156635 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
